State Recreation Area
Location/Directions
The recreation area is five miles southeast of Delhi on Highway 99,
south of Turlock. Take the Shanks Rd exit east to Vincent Rd.,
turn right and head into the town of Delhi. At the stop sign turn left on
El Capitan. Head east out of town a couple of miles (about 4 miles, sorry,
I haven't checked exactly) to Pepper St and turn south, then left on 2nd
Ave and follow the road into the park.

Habitats
Park-like habitat with some trees lining the river. Lots of
ornamental trees may attract migrant songbirds during migration.
Birds
Wintering sparrows, thrushes and woodpeckers. A Long-eared Owl spent
several weeks here in January of 2003.
