Rd / Isenberg Crane Preserve
Location/Directions
From Interstate 5, take the Turner Rd. exit. Head
north on Thornton Rd. 1 mile to Woodbridge Rd. and turn left (west). The
Isenberg Crane Preserve is 2.4 miles west of I5. Continue birding
Woodbridge Rd to the west end.
Habitats
Large areas of wetlands and flooded fields in the fall and winter
months.
Birds
In winter, this area hosts large numbers of waterfowl and cranes. A good
spot for Eurasian Wigeon. This is the famous spot where the Demoiselle
Crane was discovered by Celeste Pryor in September of 2001.
