Stanislaus and Merced Counties Birding Locations Using Google Maps

All of the most frequently visited birding locations have been added to a Google Map. The Google Maps graphic Go to Google Maps Homeis a link to the map of Birding Locations in Stanislaus and Merced Counties. By clicking on it you will navigate to a Google Maps webpage with links to the main birding locations within the two counties. The Google Map may also be viewed with Google Earth. 
Once you are viewing the Birding Locations Google Map you may browse to each site listed by clicking on the link along the left column.

How to View the Stanislaus Birding Locations Map Using Google Earth

Once you have navigated to the Google Maps site, you may save the file to be viewed via Google Earth. See Google Earth sample below:

1. While at the Google Maps site, click on the View in Google Earth link shown circled in red above. Save this Birding_Sites.kml file to your computer (don't forget where you saved it).
2. Google Earth Google Earthmust be installed on your computer. (Skip this step if you already have it installed.) Click on the Google Earth graphic to the left; this will take you to the Google Earth Site. Click on the Google Earth Download button button and follow the directions.

3. Launch Google Earth and go to File, Open and browse to the Birding_Sites.kml file from step 1 and open it.
4. You will need to double-click on the map in the vicinity of the Central Valley to zoom in closer. A tour of how to use Google Earth is at this link.
