WHAT:
T he Central Valley Bird Club invites you to join
in a fun birding activity to help raise money
for the Youth Scholarship Fund. Several Audubon
chapters and other businesses and individuals
have pledged money based on the total number of
bird species found by all participants
throughout the Big Year. There is no charge to
participate and a certificate will be given to
each birder that completes the event.
WHEN:
The Big Year runs from November 1st, 2004
through October 31st, 2005.
WHERE:
The length of the Central Valley, from Redding
to Maricopa. All birds must be seen within the
official CV boundary as defined at these links.
WHY:
All donations received will go toward the David
Yee Youth Scholarship Program. These funds are
used to send junior high and high school
students to the San Francisco State Univ. Sierra
Field Station's birding banding course and the
ABA Young Birders Conference.
HOW TO SIGN UP:
Email the Big Year Coordinator, Jim Gain, at
phalarope@sbcglobal.net Be sure to
indicate if you are signing up as a Youth
Birder, Intermediate or Advanced. |
