Stanislaus Audubon Fieldtrips for 2010 (March
through June)
All of the Stanislaus Audubon Society Fieldtrips
are open to the public. Fieldtrips will include a combination of walking
and driving. Read the trip description for details. No pets are allowed.
Children must be under direct parental supervision at all times. Bring
binoculars, birding field guides, water, lunch, suntan lotion, insect
repellant, and any other personal items that you feel you need. Wear
clothing appropriate for the weather. Also be prepared to assist the
drivers with fuel costs and any entry fees. Occasionally restroom
facilities are not available, but the leader will know the location of
the nearest restrooms. If you have any questions contact Bill Amundsen

FIELDTRIPS TO SAN JOAQUIN RIVER NATIONAL WILDLIFE
REFUGE:
Stanislaus Audubon Society organizes monthly
fieldtrips to San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge located west of
Modesto. Most of these trips are driving, but we may walk up to two
miles on dirt roads. These trips will meet in the parking lot behind
Stanislaus County Library, 15th and H Streets in Modesto at
7:00 A.M., Upcoming trip dates to the refuge are: Saturday, March 20;
Sunday, April18; Saturday, May 15; Sunday, June 20; Saturday, July 17;
Sunday, August 15; Saturday, September 18; Sunday, October 17; Saturday,
November 13.
GENERAL FIELDTRIPS:
June 26 and 27th.
Saturday/Sunday Trip to Yosemite, Tioga Pass and
Mono Lake
We will meet at the Stanislaus County Library rear
parking lot 15th and H Streets in Modesto at 6:30 AM on
Saturday June 26th. We will head east on Hwy 132 through Coulterville
and Greely Hill to the 120 entrance where we will reconvene and leave
the Hwy 120 Yosemite entrance at 9:00 AM. We will then drive to the
Chevron Meadows gas station where Hwy 120 turns left and heads to Tioga
Pass. We will look for Great Gray Owls before continuing on to Tioga
Pass and eventually down to Lee Vining for dinner and overnight
accommodations. There are several campsites along the Walker River and
lodging in Lee Vining. We will meet up again at the gas station corner
of Hwy 120/395 to continue birding Mono Lake and Lundy Canyon before
