About 25 miles east of Modesto on the south side of the Tuolumne River.

Habitats
This area includes open water with surrounding grasslands. The river campground features lots of oak and cottonwood trees and is one of the best accessible riparian habitats in Stanislaus County.

Birds
The campground is good for wintering sparrows, wrens, thrushes, chat and migrating songbirds. The lake and surrounding grasslands are good for waterfowl, raptors, loons, grebes, Mountain Plover are regular and Lark Bunting.
