SNOWY EGRET NESTING INFORMATION (From birdsoftheworld.org)
Nests - Female does most nest-building, which continues at least through incubation. Male supplies nesting material while female works sticks into nest
Eggs - Elliptical. Pale greenish blue. Clutch size generally 3–5 eggs; occasionally 2–6.
Incubation - Mean incubation period is 22 days.
Fledging - Semialtricial young. Hatchlings covered by white down except on wings; pinfeathers appear by 1 wk; by 2 wk Juvenile feathers and rectrices emerging. Both parents feed young. Well-digested food regurgitated onto nest floor for hatchlings 1–5 d old.
